My project for the hop is a few layouts I have put together to share with you. I have some Christmas Ornaments farther down on my blog that I am going to repeat the picture of a few of them just because

Let's begin with an ornament I made a couple of years ago. Someone made me the glittered ball in green and I just decided to cut out Mr. Cricut and add him to my tree.... He is a part of my family you know!

This layout was created with the Christmas Noel cartridge. I cut the trees out and then cut the base out with wonder sheets. The sheets that have glue on both sides its alot like the red tape you can buy from the Rewards Site.. then I put glitter (super fine glitter) on the trees and it stuck to the adhesive on the paper! I love how it turned out.

I have fallen in love with ECHO PARK paper packages. This package is called "Merry Christmas" I realize there are no Cricut cuts on this layout but I love love love this paper and wanted to share this layout with you. Also I wanted to show my granddaughter off!

Now for my projects for this my very first blog hop!

I had the hardest time ever deciding which project I wanted to make for this blog hop. Did I wanna do a layout or did I wanna do a card or which type of the layout did I want to use.... SOOOO I came to the final decision to just use em' all! Please forgive me for using so many projects in this presentation and I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed making them for you.

First up I have this brand new passion for Inky Antic Rubber Stamps... The Honey Pop Collection. I used DCWV paper and copic markers. The cut out on the front of the card was done using spellbinders and my cuttlebug.

I love how you open the card up and find the 3-D surprise inside! I used Diamond Glaze to make the bubbles look shiny I love that stuff!

Next project stars my beloved Cricut! The layout was created with We R Memory Keepers paper and the Paper Dolls cartridge. Of course the faces were created with my Peachy Keen face stamps.

This layout was created using the Happily Ever After cartridge. It is the pumpkin from the Cinderella section on page 40 of the handbook. The paper piecing was not as hard as I first imagined it would be.

This layout is all ready to add pictures from this year's Thanksgiving Dinner! The title says it all. I made the Gobble from the Speaking of Fall Classmate cartridge. I bought this cartridge just for the fall alphabet on it.

Last but not least - Simply Charmed is the cartridge that has this cute title and pumpkins on it. They are bit comical and look more like oranges than pumpkins to me but I am going to use pictures from an up coming crop that I am attending on these pages!

Vinyl Tutorial

Some of you asked about putting the vinyl on the wall and how easy or how hard it is to do. I do not have a camera where I can video this so I took pictures of each step and will explain them to you as I go. I hope this helps... If you try it be sure and let me know how it turned out for you! and Thanks for stopping by!!

First I cut all of the pieces needed to create my hedgehog for Olivia's wall. I used my blade on 3 and my pressure on 3. When I finished cutting all the pieces the first thing I did was remove the excess vinyl leaving only the image I am going to put on the wall.

Begin by choosing the base piece of your image. Here I used the piece that I will add the layers to one by one. Lay the piece out still attached to the vinyl backing.

I choose the feet to add to the base. I take those pieces off the backing and place them on the base as I would if I were paper piecing.

Continue adding the layers to complete the item. Here I have layered the face and the snout.

Keep adding the layers, here the eyes, pink of the ears and nose, he is beginning to take life! I think in my final image I used my circle punch to cut out dark dots to put in the center of those light colored eyes. I don't know why that picture wasn't added.

Once you get to this spot you just pull the entire item from the backing. At this point the piece is a bit easier to manipulate I guess because it has more body to it from the added layers. Just place it on your wall where you would like it to be. smooth out all the hair bubbles with either a dull side of your cell phone or a Popsicle stick. I hope you will try this out because it truly is easier than I would have imagined.

Liv's Room Part 2

Here is the second part to Olivia's room... It is a work in progress when we get things up we think you know this would be nice or that would be nice... when she is 16 we may have it just perfect! hahaha
I tried to do a tutorial but I didn't have anyone to take pictures for me... When I do the hedgehog I am going to add those directions in tutorial form.. hopefully this weekend!

Going to add a hedgehog to the grass along with some flowers on the next go around..

These little love birds are over her door. The next time I go down I'm going to cut a heart to place over the top of them..

This last little leaf was Olivia's contribution.. I had put things up on the wall and she was chirping around saying "I help Nana,,,I gonna help Nana" so I handed her that little leaf to "hold" for me.. it was an extra leaf I wasn't going to use so if she ripped it no biggie.. I turned around and she had hopped off the bed and found her a small spot on the wall at the foot of the bed and she put her addition up! I thought it was so cute and had to take a picture of it!!

So there you have it! I hope you enjoy. I am really having a good time working in her little room! My inspiration, Olivia, is such a joy to work for!

Livvie Girl's Bedroom Walls Part 1

When I went to Janet's this weekend I took vinyl cuts from my cricut to put up on her wall. First time to do this on a bedroom wall.
This is part one because I will be adding additional items over the headboard of her bed and vinyl on one small chest of drawers too..

When it was finished Olivia said shaking her head "I like it!, I DO like it Nana!"

Ok My First Imagine Layout.....................TAAADAAA!!!!!!!

OK this was my first time around with Imogene the Imagine... I think I need to do a bit more calibration.. When I did my first trials it seemed to be ok but the more I cut the worse it seemed to be so I need to investigate that a bit more.. I love how you can layer things and make them 3 D...

You can make the letters to match using the patterns on the cartridge

I love the froggie... he went a courtin teehee

But I think this is my most favorite thing with the Imagine.... The journal boxes... They are so awesome!!!

I know what you are thinking... where is the Imagine project she promised... I did finish it.. but I wanna show you just a few things first please?

I picked up this Teresa Collins kit when I was in Indy at the Circle Meetup... I made it up for Olivia's 2nd birthday.. I love how it turned out! I used numerous cutouts from the cricut and various cartridges...The pictures are on her ACTUAL birthday, she had a party before her birth date.... so without further adieu here is my first lil book.....

The balloons were cut out and then topped with crystal lacquer..they wanted to curl up on me pretty bad though... I used two candles on the cake to represent her 2nd birthday. I tried to do that through out the book.

This is the first of several little pockets in the book. This one had tags on it with little things that I wish for Olivia for her life..

I also went through my carts and cut out all sorts of twos... all different kinds.

I used my peachy keen face stamps to make the faces on the center of my daises. I love those stamps! Look at all the little faces she comes up with! Oh my gosh she is a hot mess! I love her so much. Until you have a grandchild no one can tell you how much you will fall in love with them!

This pocket holds tags with memories I have of her from this past year. So many little antidotes she said and did... Things I never want her to forget that they were special to me!

This was way more fun than I would have ever imagined. I am not much for this type thing...

This the last pocket holds all different kinds of twos. On them I wrote things like 2 cute, 2 funny, because she is all those things in my eyes.

I love this page with the cupcakes and blue birds! I used my brand new copic markers to do these.

Final page are pictures from her actual birthday party. She and I and one with her Mom ( my daughter) and Dad

For Olivia.... The love of my life........ I hope one day she looks through this and sees how much her Nana loves her!

Imagine Update!! OKAY

Newest Addition to the Family! IMOGENE the Imagine!

OK, today I got home and there was a humongous box sitting in the middle of my living room!

It was my new Cricut Imagine... I did not IMAGINE it would be so big... I mean I knew it was going to be larger than the other machines but I just did not IMAGINE it would be THIS BIG!! ..... Size aside..... I got it hooked up and positioned on my nice little roller thingies that a lady on the message board told me were awesome and they are! Shout out to her... All hooked up... ready to go.... paper in.... nice first cut .. a bit off kilter but that's ok I will re caliber... did... next cut was great!...

So then I eat dinner and watch American Idol...

(WHOA BIG UPSET)

back to my new BIG baby.... I decide I need to register it before I go any further... Where is the serial number on this big boy????? go ahead guess.... DEAD LEVEL BOTTOM!! So I pull it off my nice caddy thingies... turn it upside down and get the number... put it back on the caddies... of course it takes me about 20 mins to get it all perfectly set up again... I do some more cutting out and some more playing... now I would share some of my cuts but I am dog tired at this point!... I will revisit this tomorrow after work.. I promise to post some pictures of my playtime with Imogene this weekend.. Be sure and stop back by for that... I am terribly excited about my newest addition to the family!

These are from my rubber stamp root days.... I was a rubber stamper many years before the scrappin bug hit me

This heart is a Magenta stamp... Magenta was my favorite stamp company at the time.

Then I had the rose chapter in my life... every stamp I bought was a floral of some sort

My son in law had a VW beetle so this was his birthday card that year

and again with the floral chapter HA HA HA

ANY KIND of floral was my thing

This was from my ............ eye period??? Have no clue where I got the notion or the stamp to do this one or who I gave it to.

This one reminds me of my daughter... I love it!

Cat Meow! WOW! How corny was that

This stamp was purchased solely for my daughter.. She loves Jackie Kennedy & Grace Kelly and this stamp reminded me of that.... I drove all the way to Cinncinati to find this stamp. When I got there they only had it in unmounted... SO this was the first stamp I purchased unmounted... until then I was certain there were no stamps unless they were WOOD MOUNT.. now I have alot of woodmount I just rarely use them. I hope you enjoy these cards.

Cute as a Bug!

Obviously I am getting all cranked up with my scrapbooking... 4th layout of the year... This one was made because I was going to a crop this weekend that was in association with a Creative Memories Consultant. I was going to do a quick demo of Cricut and what you could do with the new Creative Memories cartridges. The Consultant said she really liked the Cheerful Seasons Cart so I decided to do a quick layout to take and show what all you can do with this cart. I did not get to go to the crop because of the snowy icy weather but I did finish the layout because I had started with it. Everything used here with the exception of the journal block and the background paper and brads were made with the Creative Memories Cheerful Seasons Cartridge. I hope you like it.

The alphabet is really cute and it cuts 4 different types of fonts. The A is just the uppercase of the basic font. The Cute is the Cheerful Font and the Bug is the Cheerful Shape Font which could really be counted as two fonts if you use the positive AND negative cuts. I made an attempt with the "bug" to match my lady bugs but wasn't happy with the result.

I love all the little bugs and snails and even the flowers on this cartridge. The grass is a partial cut from one of the images. I used my hide contour and hid the lawnmower and cut out just the grass.

I hunted through my paper to find paper that looked like sky. I never found anything that I was happy with so I decided to use a cloud stencil and some blue ink with a makeup sponge to make the background. You can't see it really well here but it turned out great!. I think Great Impressions is the maker of the cloud stencil.

The little birds on the cart are so cute~!. The branch is the base for the Summer Season tree on the cart. I just cut it and laid it sideways instead of straight up. made a great branch for my bluebird of happiness to perch.

I used glitter on the wings of the dragon fly. I just put some glue stick by Zig on the wings then sprinkled superfine glitter on them. After they dried I brushed the excess off but wish I had left it on heavy.

I cut a cloud from the Create A Critter cartridge and then used it as my journal block. It made sense since the whole layout was sky.

Let me know what you think of this one! Of course I gotta give credit to my gypsy who helps me make my layouts! I have gotten so used to working with her that I am not sure I could make a layout with it now!.

Happy New Year everyone!!!. I have been in a scrapping mood as of late and since January 1st I have completed 3 two page layouts! I know, I know!!! I hear you saying "that's a layout a week!!! What is up with Debbie!!!"
I just have been bitten by the bug HARD so I have been scrapping like a fiend... I have decided to upload them to my blog.
I know it's been awhile, forgive me.. I hope to upload more in the near future since I still have my scrapping bug going on!
If you have any questions please feel free to contact me. I still have these layouts on my gypsy and can give you sizes as close as I can. I suppose I could even share the gypsy file? I have never done that before but I am sure it can't be THAT hard?

Here Comes Santa Claus! OH NO!

Okay I had to put away the earlier pictures and move on to some more recent things! I don't wanna forget a thing! This year Olivia was so much more excited about Christmas! We went to church the day that Santa came to visit.. Even though Santa was a very familiar person to Olivia (shhh it was Daddy) she wasn't so sure she wanted to visit with the big guy!

I love this title... It was cut from the "Christmas Noel" solutions cartridge.. I love the S and the C... the holly was cut from "Winter Woodland" and the snow flakes were punched with my Creative Memories snowflake punch.

The Santa, reindeer, and sleigh were also cut from the "Christmas Noel" cart. I cut it as a silhouette in black and I love the way it turned out. I saw this done by someone else somewhere but it wasn't a Cricut cut. I decided to switch it up and use Cricut and love the way it came out.

This paper stack is so beautiful! I bought it last year at Michael's. I think it is Basic Grey. I had split the stack with a friend so I didn't have the covers of the stack to tell you exactly. I love this Santa he is so handsome!

I really enjoyed making this page. I think this is the first Christmas page I have completed in a long time. I know it's the first Christmas page I have made with Olivia.. I have got to get busy!!!

Again, I used my fabulous Gypsy to create the cuts. If you have any questions I still have it on my gypsy and can give you approximate sizes if you need them.

Look Who's Having a Birthday! Olivia! That's WHOOOOOO

Working on Miss Olivia's first birthday.. I know it's only a year later! But I have been extremely motivated! I used an unlikely combination of carts with this one... I started out with Mini Monograms for the blue and green scallop pieces that I cut in half and used one half on each page. The strip across the top believe it or not came out of my scrap box. I was very impressed with myself for using my scraps :-)

The flowers were all cut from "Forever Young" I love this cart! The big daisy was cut and then layered with a pop dot between the layers to give it depth. The title was cut from "Hoot "N" Holler" One of the Cricut Lite cartridges from Wal-Mart. I love how it gives you all the different color layers without having to trim them out yourself, makes paper piecing a breeze!

I can't for the life of me remember what cartridge I cut the one from.... sorry! The title block is one from a My Mind's Eye collection I believe.

Doncha love this owl? I fell in love with her the instant I found her on my gypsy... she came from "Disney Princesses - Happily Ever After" I don't have the sizes on any of my cuts because I used my awesome GYPSY!!! Gotta tell you if you don't have one of these it MUST be your next purchase. You can actually size each item to fit your page without worrying about what "size" it is with the dials. Super dooper easy.

Believe it or not Olivia is going to be 2 years old in 16 days and I am still working away on her baby pictures and her 1st birthday party is yet to be scrapped.... Nana has got to get the lead out!!

Olivia - my Beautimus Tiny Dancer!!

After all the bad press with the "Shall We Dance" cartridge I thought maybe I would try a page with it.. I was surprised at how many things I could use on this layout from that cartridge. I do have the perfect picture for that cartridge though :-)

I use a lot of brands of rubber stamps but my favorite brand by far is TECHNIQUE TUESDAY. The background on the white strip was made with a group of their stamp sets that I pulled one from this set and one from that set. I have decided if I can't find the right background paper I can pull out my stamps and create it! I encourage you all to give it a try.

The dancers along the side of the layout are all from Shall We Dance.. I used glitter to dress up the tutu

This title came from "Once Upon a Princess" I dressed up the bows with my I-Rock which I have decided is a pretty good investment! The only problem I have is chasing the little blings down. If anyone has a great way to add them to a page I would LOVE to know what it is. The ballet slippers came from "Shall We Dance".

I just love these little dancers! I can't wait for Olivia to see them I think she will like them too!

Again I used my Technique Tuesday stamps to make a co-ordinating piece for the second page of my layout.

I think the papers are from K & Company... At least I know the floral piece is.

I hope you enjoy this layout, pink and brown is one of my favorite color combinations for little girls.

Halloween Pumpkins

Cut these images from vinyl for my bosses wife... We put them on her pumpkins today... I love them!

These spiders were sooo realistic that they gave me the willies pulling them off the vinyl! The vinyl was just movable enough to tell my eyes they were moving on their own! UGH!!

The spider and the small "corner " web are from October 31 and the rest of the cuts are from Pumpkin Carving... I cant wait to do my pumpkins!

Found a Peanut Found a Peanut Found a Peanut Just Now

Do you remember that song as a kid? It conjoured up all these pictures of some poor soul finding a peanut eating and then getting sick! Poor fellow!. Not this peanut he is the cutest ever. Thanks goes to Pat P for showing me how to use the cuttlebug and the mesh folder to create a true peanut shape! The peanut was cut from Create a Critter and then I stamped the faces with Peachy Keen face stamps (the greatest ever) and then lay them in the mesh cuttlebug folder and ran in through the cuttlebug. Be sure that the face side is on the side that makes the embossing down in the paper. In other words make sure the dimples are down not up. I had to redo mine because they looked better that way in my opinion. This picture makes it look like the dimples are raised but its quite the opposite.

Nana and is was cut from the Cuttin Up cartridge and go really well with the font of the the Nuts about you piece that is cut also from the create a critter.

I went ahead and ran the word nuts and the circle around the U through the cuttlebug too so they look like the peanut as well.

The little elephant is also from Create a Critter he reminds me of dumbo!

I like the way it turned out! And never a truer word was spoken than the one here because I am truly nuts about Miss Olivia!

Nana's Sleeping Angel!

Took me virtually all weekend to get this just the way I wanted it to be... but I am quite pleased with the end result. The paper was some I had gotten of QVC before they went out of the scrapbooking business and I fell in love with it!. The angel wings and wing corner pieces came from the new Picturesque cartridge which is an absolute dream of a cart! The font is Lovely Floral which is one of the walmart lite carts and when you pick up the font you have to look closely to see what font is there but its a gorgeous font! So elegant! The paper I used to make the angel wings and corners is from the Shimmer paper pack from DCWV.

I layered one of the cuts on top of the other to make the textured wings and to give them depth. I started to ink them but was so happy with the results I bypassed the ink. They shimmer enough with just the paper.

This was a bit tricky.. I had to lay my picture down on the purple paper then add the corner pieces and trim them down so it turned out like this...

Someday I am going to be shot for using this picture of her in a scrapbook much less posting it out there for you to see too.... OH WELL the price a Nana pays for the cute shots! I hope you enjoy this layout. I am planning on putting in a 12x12 frame for my scrapbook room for awhile...

Gettin in the Halloween Spirit!

I was at a SWARM this weekend and one of the make n' takes was this Halloween layout.. I decided to embellish it up and add some of my cricut style to the layout along with Liv's first Halloween pictures. The cartridges I used was the Original Paper Dolls along with Black letter for the font. I think the Black letter turned out to be a fantastic font for Halloween. Can't wait for the new Halloween cart to get here because I love the fonts on it. Anyway here is my creation! I hope you enjoy

The pumpkin and the black glob (which is supposed to be a spider but obviously I don't know how to stamp with paint ) were stamped with foam stamps using black paint... Not one of my greatest mediums. I think personally the foam stamps are hard to work with and are too "squooshie" when you press them down..

I love this picture of Olivia looks like she is really in the Halloween spirit and screaming at that spider!

The mummy became part of my journaling tools I love that fellow I have used him several time

The cat and the bats were super easy to cut out, I did use my gypsy for all cuts and the cat was cut once in black then again in white to make the whites of his eyes.. I did use the hide contour and took all but the outside lines off him before I cut it out. The cat has what was left of my white pen to make the high lights

Sugar N Spice and Everything Nice

This week I used again a couple of carts. I used the new Cricut Lite Sugar and Spice cartridge along with Everyday Paper dolls and Hello Kitty Font.
I must put a plug in for the gypsy because it made cutting out the different colors a DREAM! I used the hide show feature to hide the pieces I wanted to cut a different color. For example the stork is carrying a bundle, when you pull that cut up the bundle has he hole in it for the background paper to show through. I used the hide function to NOT cut the hole out so that when I layered it with the lighter pink the dark is in the back... like the background feature. I am telling you if you don't already own a gypsy THIS IS A MUST HAVE!!!

The hospital is from Everyday Paper Dolls and the font is Hello Kitty

Some of the other cartridges have storks but I believe this one is my all time favorite.. it comes from Sugar and Spice and he has real character!

Forgive the delay on this layout being posted but I just started a new job and I am having a time adjusting to the new hours.... I hope you enjoy this page as much as I enjoyed putting it together! Happy Scrappin!

My New Scrap Home!

I have been working on my scrapbook room for quite a few months now trying to get just the right look and feel to what I want.. I think I made it.. Here are a few pics of "MY SCRAP HOME" I hope you like it... while it's not fancy it is the place I go to be with my favorite toys my Create, Expressions, and of course the Gypsy! They have the absolute center of the room and I built all my other sections around the stars of my room!

This is my stickles storage along with my prized Tim Holtz tin I made at CHA a couple years ago... I am a Tim Fan too

This is my rubber stamping area... Those are my stamps in the binders on the first shelf.. my ink pads are sitting under that shelf on the desk behind the light.. above those are my pens, chalks, and anything I need to stamp out my creations. The plastic drawers hold other goodies, scissors, clear stamp blocks. I have my wooden blocks in a drawer under the table!

This is my scrap area to the left of my cricut area... This is where I Put my pages together

This is under my cricut station... It's the papers I have that are in pads. The drawers under them are for border strips, mat stacks, and you can see tomatoes my Mom canned for me peeping out at you! Thanks Mom~!

This is my computer area where I sit and look at cricut.com! although that is Facebook and mafia wars up there on the screen now!

Let's Get Ready for School!

My Dad is a retired school teacher so school has always been an important part of my life even when I wasn't going to school. Let me first say that this is not an original idea, I was looking on the message board at cricut.com and saw a layout very similar to this one. I went to the board and tried to find the person so I could give them credit but it must have been over a year ago I saw it and I couldn't find it again.

The papers were some I had that was old not sure what company it is.. but I love the colors and think the primary colors are perfect with the subject matter.

All these things remind me of the first time I went to school ... glue... scissors... yellow pencils.. brings back alot of memories..I can almost smell the school... didn't school have a whole different smell than the rest of the world?

I love how the word recess is all in one piece... perfect for titles!

I had to do a bit of marker work to highlight some of the bus and the slide.... didn't you love the school slide? :-)

Okay enough of a travel down memory lane to school days... I hope you enjoy this layout as much I did making it! Please leave comments I love em!! Week 2 Nursery Rhymes

I used the banner from Nursery Rhymes and my Gypsy to make it as large as I needed for it to go from side to side of my 12 x 12 page. The gypsy is great for sizing cuts to match where you want them and if you are even remotely considering if it is worth it IT IS!!!!

Not alot of commentary on this layout this week I just wanted to show how great a page can be even if you use only one cut from a cartridge..... It is rare that I use only one embellishment on a page but my pictures are center stage on this one.. I hope you enjoy! And again if you are on the fence about if the gypsy is worth it trust me it is more than worth it...

I gotta rig me up something to take better pictures with ... laying them down and leaning over them is not the best plan any ideas you have for me would be greatly appreciated... also could someone tell me how to do the watermark so I can put my name on the picture without marring the photo?

I was going to "feature" one cartridge but when I got to messin with this layout I wanted to use cuts from two cartridges. Nursery Rhymes is a great cart! I love all the baby things that are there along with a pretty awesome alphabet! A Child's Year will always been one of my favorites because of the heritage feel it has to it. I am working frantically to get these baby pictures done so I can move to her recent pictures.. Can you believe she is a year old already!!!! (well at this writing she is actually 16 months)Anyway back on topic! I love these sepia prints that I took when Livvie was only 5 days old! The purple paper really went well with the hue of the pictures. I hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed making it!

This little piggy from Nursery Rhymes is the perfect accent to go with those cute little piggies !!!!

I used dark purple to cut the blackout of the cut then used a light purple for the actual cut out of the words.

The O is from the paper package I used it is Heidi Grace.

I have used this little girl with her buggy at least two times now I love it!

I absolutely love this layout I hope you enjoy it and I hope it inspires you to mix it up and use more than one cartridge per layout! The next layout I am going to share with you also uses Nursery Rhymes.. Stay tuned!

I gotta tell you guys the Gypsy is the most awesome tool ever invented to go with the equally impressive Cricut! I spent my day on Saturday making ornaments for the kids and personalizing them! I made one special ornament just for my best friend CRICUT! See if you see it in the post! I did not do the ornamanet just the vinyl lettering and Cricut head (a friend gave me the ornament and I added the embellishments ) I gotta give credit to Christmas with Cricut for the idea to make the ornaments.. The font is Winter Woodland and may be my new favorite font!!

Happy First Birthday Darling Boy

Monday marks the birth of my first grandchild. Keaton Lee made his entrance on March 23, 2008. A bit early but we were all so happy to meet him. No one that met him didn't fall instantly in love with him. He had such a HUGE personality. He was our special Easter gift from Heaven above. Excitement was so high but our hearts were guarded with concern for our darling boy. We prayed with all our hearts that his little body would become stronger with each day and that before we knew it we could all hold him in our arms and kiss his tiny fingers. Two days after his birth I met him face to face... My heart was so full of love instantly for him. Didn't matter that there were tubes everywhere he was the most handsome baby boy I had ever seen. Then he reached out and took my finger as I slowly ran my finger along his wrist. That is when he stole my heart and wrapped me around his finger. I knew that no matter what Keaton would always be special to me. There would never be another like him. He is my first grandchild... my first grandson.... as the days passed while he was in the NICU I thought progress was made, to his Nana's unknowing eyes he looked like he was doing so well. On Sunday when I made my visit to his room I was so amazed at how well he looked, his color was good, he seemed to raise his head and I thought how strong he was... as I left the NICU that day I left with assurance that Keaton was ok.. everything was going to be ok... a few short hours later he wasnt ok. ... a few short days later he was not with us any longer. Keaton you are so missed. a year later you are still so loved ... things have happened this year while you were not with us but your presence was noticed... you have been with us everyday... You changed my life. ... You changed my outlook... and You my darling grandson made me want to be a different person. ... made me look at other people in a different light... you changed your old Nana in such a short time. I look at it now and know I failed you in some of those changes... there are things I still want to do to make me a better person. ... forgive me for letting you down in those areas... and now on your birthday I want to take those things up again... this year I want to be a better person yet.... this year I want to change things for the better... Yes Love, you may not have been here in our presence very long... but not a day goes by that you are not thought of and loved dearly and deeply. Nana loves you and I am going to change things this year... each day I am going to remember the fight you fought and the love you brought and the inspiration you taught.... I love you... I remember you... and I honor you... Happy Birthday my strong darling grandson...

Seven weeks ago the most wonderful thing happened to me. I became a grandmother.
Two days later I saw him for the very first time. I saw how beautiful he was. I saw how tiny he was and I saw him wrap his fingers around my finger holding on so tight and thats when he stole my heart and became the most wonderful thing in the world for me. He was our blessed Easter miracle!
When I saw him again. He was looking so much better! His face had filled out and he was gorgeous.. the most beautiful baby that has ever graced this earth. He smiled at me when I lowered my face to the glass and spoke his name.. "Hi Keaton, Nana is here." He was so strong as he lifted his head up from the bed. My heart was so full of love for him I thought it would burst. He was doing so well.
The next day our tiny baby boy became sick. If I had known what the future held I would have never left the hospital. Every second was precious.
At that moment I prayed like I had never prayed nor will ever pray again.
One month ago I watched my daughter and son in law go through the worst time in their lives. That made it the worst time in my life. I wish I could have taken the whole thing away from them so that they didnt have to feel it.. I would have given anything for things to have been different.
One month ago I saw courage in the truest form. I saw a little man bravely fight for his life with all he had. I saw the courage in my daughter and son in law as they loved their baby enough to make the decision to allow him to go rather than to see him suffer because we all wanted him to stay so bad we were willing to keep him with us no matter what . That took courage that I know I would never had been able to have and it took great love. They are true heros. I admire them and respect them so much for that courage and love.
One month ago the tiny grandson that had in just a few short days become my world was lost to me forever and I never even got to hold him not even once.
One month ago I lost the most precious thing I have ever had in my world. It wasnt anything this earth could give me..it was more precious than gold, or silver and it was worth more than anything that I could ever have recieved in my life.
One month ago the world continued to turn, the sun continued to shine, the rivers continued to race....but only one short month ago a part of me was taken away, a part that will never heal.
I will love you and keep you forever in my heart, my darling Keaton.

Our darling Keaton Lee passed away on April 10, 2008. The days of his life may have been short but the love he gave and the joy he brought was huge, his memory will last forever in the hearts of his parents and his Grandparents. I will love you as long as I live my darling baby boy!

Keaton arrived on Easter afternoon to our surprize since my daughter was only 27 wks pregnant! Was very touch and go for a little bit, he weighs in at a hefty 2 lbs and 4 oz and 14 inches long!! No bigger than a tissue box. They flew him to the NIC unit at the University of Ky where he will be until June more than likely.... I just wanted to share a picture of him for all of you have so kindly called me and wished me well and to be honest I couldnt live without you guys... Thank you.... and now may I present to you the center of my universe......
